This is Me

Hi, my name is Greanlee but a lot of friends know me as Grean.

I started drawing in fourth grade after seeing one of my classmates drawing something i thought to be beyond impressive. Seeing her draw was a huge inspiration for me to start on this journey.

My inspiration for drawing now mostly stems from an admiration of horror and a need to be creative.

I often feel trapped in my own mind because of a rejection from a Arts School I could have spent my senior year at.

Thats when i started to really get into drawing horror. I credit most of my inspiration to the Japanese manga artist Junji Ito.

I enjoy horror art because it can be messy and unkept, sometimes it even looks better that way, adding an unsettling tone to the piece.

This let me express my emotions in the messy nature they tend to be. Cute and beautiful drawings need to be symetrical, this makes them incredibly difficult to achieve. And when mine weren't perfect, I wasn't happy. I would spiral into violent depressive episodes. Discovering my love for horror saved me from my own mind.
